Cycle, skate, walk… just move!

| March 24, 2011

Cyclovia Tucson is an annual event that encourages people of all ages to get outdoors to exercise, socialize, and enjoy themselves. From 10am to 3pm, a 5 mile loop of Tucson streets will be closed to auto traffic and opened to strolling and biking. This is the second year for this event which has rapidly grown in size and popularity.

Cyclovia’s goals include increasing awareness for cycling and walking safety on public streets and providing a sociable fun experience for all participants. Volunteers man intersections along the routes and provide guidance. Cyclovia bills itself as a “Zero Waste” event, meaning bring your own water bottle. There are water stations all along the route to fill bottles, but none will be wasted!

Cyclovia isn’t a race or a competition. It’s open to all and free of charge. And it’s a lot of fun. Everyone who participates seems to be there to have fun and enjoy the experience. More information at  the Cyclovia Website.
