New look has “the best of both worlds”

Facebook has announced a new look for the News Feed. It doesn’t look like the version they showed us a year ago. Testing showed that users liked the bigger photos but had trouble with navigation. ┬áThis is an update to the visual layout, and doesn’t affect what Facebook shows you (have you noticed an absence of posts from your favorite pages?). For marketers, Facebook says you don’t need to do anything; specs and image ratios remain the same. For users, you may notice that ads are now the same size as all of the other images. The look is not changing on mobile devices.

Notice that the images are full-width in the center column, and the columns on the side are gray.
