Have A Big Idea That Needs Funding?

The Be Big Community Contest offers a $5,000 grand prize and (5) $1,000 first prizes to fund winning ideas that benefit the community and espouse the virtues of the Be Big program. The contest is sponsored by Scholastic and the HandsOn Network.

Past winners have included projects involving women’s shelters, veterans care, and lots of youth programs. This funding opportunity is unusual because it is open to individuals and teams of individuals whether or not associated with an organization.

Submissions can be made online application or by downloading an application (PDF). Submissions are due by June 22, 2012. Good luck with your Big Idea!
