OASIS Classes Begin

| January 18, 2012

The Winter 2012 classes for adults over 50 have begun at community locations around Tucson. There are over 200 classes offered this trimester in the art, history, humanities, health and fitness, computers, and more. These classes are all low cost and, to quote from the OASIS mission statement, “promote successful aging through lifelong learning, health programs and volunteer engagement”.

Class listings can be found on the Tucson OASIS classes page and a quick search for classes that begin this week returns Clog Dancing, Paper Quilling, German, Cancer and Nutrition,  Tai Chi, and Watercolor to name a few. Nationwide, OASIS class enrollment in 2011 was over 143,000.

Membership is free. The OASIS facility, where many of the classes are held, is at 2099 E. River Road, in the Junior League building. Other classes are held around the metro area.
