Shyann Kindness Project “Tri” for Acts of Kindness Triathlon/Duathlon

| September 10, 2012

Are you looking to showcase your athletic side?  Are you are getting ready for a full Triathlon or Duathlon?  The Shyann Kindness Project “Tri” for Acts of Kindness is for you! Their 3rd Annual Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon is the perfect opportunity for either first timers or more experienced athletes to train and participate in a relaxed sports event while supporting fundraising for a fantastic charity. A sprint triathlon is a short-distance triathlon, ideal for new competitors to the sport. The swim will be 300 yards, the bike course 12.5 miles, and the run is 3.1 miles (5K).

The event will include other family-friendly festivities including a climbing wall and raffles.

The Shyann Kindness Project was founded in 2006 by Shyann’s parents, Sandy and Glenn Rosati, after Shyann passed away.  Their mission is to pass on kindness by educating, supporting and encouraging children in stressful economic, social and medical situations.

Kindness Project volunteers assemble packages for kids that include fun toys, school supplies, educational, as well as daily items (such as toothbrushes) for distribution to needy Tucson children at twice-monthly “Kindness Gift Giving Events”.  Raffle items are offered for children to try to win while learning the value of an act of kindness.  This 100% volunteer nonprofit organization has helped more than 11,000 children in our community since 2006.

The program promotes self-esteem, confidence, and the importance of community responsibility and volunteerism to our youth.

So check it out and plan to join the fun! Whether competing or cheering, the Shyann Kindness Project will hold this event Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at La Mariposa Resort in Tucson at 7:00 am.
