Upcoming Events Week of Oct. 10

It’s a busy week for nonprofits. Here is a run down of some Tucson area activities.

Tucson OASIS hosts their 3rd Annual Discover Life After 50 Expo at the Viscount Suites, 9am to 1pm on Tuesday. The Expo features OASIS programs for vibrant aging and social engagement. Over 20 Tucson area nonprofits will have tables showcasing their programs and volunteer opportunities. OASIS members will demonstrate class activities such as music and dance.

Tohono Chul Park’s Fall Plant Sale kicks off for TCP members on Wednesday. The plant bash, one of Tucson’s biggest, opens to the public over the weekend. The Plant Sale is a great place to get desert-friendly native or arid loving plants for your home and garden.

AARP is having an Open House on Thursday at their Tucson office at 6700 N Oracle. AARP will have information on their programs including tax assistance, WorkSearch, Driver’s Education, and Medicare information services. AARP is also hosting community meetings on hot topics around Arizona, so stay tuned for Tucson dates.

Watermark for Kids Thrive! Golf Classic is this Friday at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club.

The Arizona Daily Star’s Send A Kid To Camp is having their annual Fun Chili Cook-Off on Saturday at Jonathan’s Cork, 6320 E. Tanque Verde. Some of Tucson’s best restaurants will be competing with their best chili.

And of course, this weekend is the iconic Tucson Meet Yourself Festival. The festival begins on Friday, October 11, and runs daily through the weekend. Checkout their website for an extensive calendar of events and venues.
